Terms of sale

These terms apply to every order placed on xylis.co.uk. Our company name, number and registered address are shown at the foot of every page. Please read them before you order: ticking "I accept the terms of sale" at checkout means you agree to them.

Who can buy

• You must be 18 or over.
• We deliver to UK addresses only.
• You must be buying for laboratory research. When you order, you confirm this and we record the time you did so.

Research use only

Our products are supplied for in-vitro laboratory research only. They are not for human or veterinary use and are not medicines, food, supplements or cosmetics. We do not give advice on using them in people or animals. We may refuse or cancel an order, and refund any payment, if we believe this condition will not be met.

Prices and payment

• Prices are in pounds sterling and are checked again when you place your order.
• Delivery costs are shown at checkout before you order.
• We accept bank transfer only. Use the order reference we give you so we can match your payment.
• If we have not received payment within the time shown on your order (48 hours unless stated otherwise), the order is cancelled and the items are released.

When the contract starts

Placing an order is an offer to buy. The contract starts when we email to confirm your payment has arrived. Until then we may cancel the order, for example if an item is no longer available, and refund anything you have paid in full.

Delivery

We send orders by Royal Mail Tracked 24 once payment has cleared. See our shipping policy for dispatch times and what to do if a parcel is late, lost or damaged. The goods are your responsibility once delivered.

Cancelling and returns

You can cancel within 14 days of receiving your order by telling us on WhatsApp or by email. Products in sealed vials can only be returned if the seal is unbroken, because once opened they cannot be resold for health protection reasons. Send the items back within 14 days of telling us; return postage is paid by you unless the item is faulty or we sent the wrong thing. We refund the price and the original standard delivery charge within 14 days of receiving the items back (or proof you sent them), to the account you paid from.

Faulty or incorrect items

If something arrives damaged, faulty or not as described, tell us as soon as you can with your order reference and a photo. We will replace it or refund you, including postage. Your legal rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, including the right to reject faulty goods within 30 days, are not affected.

Our responsibility

We are not responsible for loss caused by using our products other than for laboratory research. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK you can also bring proceedings in your local courts.
